PPLNS reward window
Pay Per Last N Shares means a Monero reward is divided only when the pool finds a payout block. Your qualifying work must still be inside the current 373-share window at that moment.

What effort means
About 100% is the statistical expectation for finding a block. A higher value means the current block is taking longer than expected; it does not guarantee that a block is about to arrive.
Payouts are not hourly wages
You can mine for hours without receiving XMR if no payout block is found while your qualifying shares remain in the PPLNS window. Accepted shares prove work, but they do not by themselves create a payment.
Raffle chances continue
After at least one hour in a round, accounts at 5 kH/s or below earn a ticket every 300 accepted shares, accounts above 5 through 12 kH/s every 600, and accounts above 12 kH/s every 1,000. Tickets can still give you a chance to win the published XMR prize even when PPLNS produces no payout for your work.
